I know the question of the possibility of installing a wood grip on a Mission Ballistic has come up recently. I've done several, pretty easy - took a few pics of one I did today... Wish I could have taken more pics - unfortunately my phone's battery was flashing/dead when I took these few so this is about all I could get... Certinaly realize there are more than one way to do things so this is just my process, I'm sure you can improvise as needed or find your own way to accompish the same thing.

Step one: Remove old grip. You may be able to just gently peel the old one off with a plastic scribe or flat head screw driver. If needed you can use a hair dryer or heat gun. Just be careful not to get it so hot that you mess up the finish.

Step two: Place liberal amount of weather striping adheasive (or whatever you are using) on the back of the riser where the grip will attach. I've found that with wood grips, I can usually get away with just putting on the back of the grip where plastic/rubber style grips you often need some on the side.

Step 3: Slide new wood grip on. (cost is about $50 from a Mission dealer) Hold in place for a minute or two. I take a rubber band and wrap it around the grip.

This is what it looks like in the end... Nice, easy upgrade to an already great bow!

I actually don't mind the stock rubber grip, but I do really like that wood grip. More about personal preference but I would give myself a slight preference to the wood grip - again, it's just what a person likes the feel of....

Where or how did you get the wooden grip on the ballistic? I asked at my pro shop and they called mission, but mission said they were no longer making wooden grips.

Local pro shop carries them... I checked yesterday and they had a couple on hand... If they are no longer selling them individually, I would think that a Mission dealer could order a replacement wood Blaze grip - believe the grips are the same size...
