Today I packed the bait into my site. Its smells really sweet. The trail cam is up and armed so hopefully, real soon, I will have some Bear pics to share with everyone. I have a 2 stands set up in a big spruce 20 yards away from the barrel. My dad is going to film the hunt so I should get some good footage aswell. Here's a pic of my point of view.

Well I walked out to the site tonight. No bears on the bait yet but I did cut some fresh Brown Bear Tracks on the way there. Looks like it was a sow with a 2 year old cub... Hope they dont come to the bait or I'll have to refill the barrel.

Weird. Do Brown bears keep their cubs an extra year longer then a black bear does?

It depends. Some stay for one year and some stay longer. It all depends when the sow is ready to mate again. Then she will run them off. Im sure it was a 2 year old judging by the tracks the sows were about 7.5 inches across the front and the cubs were about 5.5 inches across.
