Actually, there is a little grey in this. A food plot brings deer into a general area, where as a bait pile brings them into a "specific spot", making for MUCH better odds of killing a deer. Either way, you're luring/enticing them into a given area. It's all baiting. If it's legal and you like it, have at it! I prefer white oaks anyhow, they're naturally occurring! :D

    Touche.

But nothing was taken personally. I apologize for my actions.

It's just that there is nothing ridiculous about comparing an average mans 1 acre food plot to an average mans 50 pound bag of corn.

What's ridiculous is when you compare baiting to the same thing as food plotting.

Since it would have to mean that us (average men) would have to continuously supply bait on a 24/7 basis. And thats not what an average man would do. He would only put out 1 bag... maybe 2. Cause they are heavy and expensive.

And an average man would have about a 1 acre food plot. And it would supply a great amount of nutrition for a long distance of time.

Only thing ridiculous about that example is that you believe it was ridiculous.

    And that... is ridiculous.

I find it amusing that a guy says he has a 1, 2 or 10 acre food plot and that is different than a bait pile, because its bigger and the deer could come into the plot anywhere.... but, he hunts with in 20 yards of the trail where the deer file into the plot every night! LOL!

Only this is the first time I've ever entered this subject.

Cause I'm tired of it and its elitist attitudes.

    Duke....

Again....I only took issue with the ridiculous comparison (1 acre food plot v. 50# bag of corn). I know a LOT (like....almost EVERY) of hunters around here who bait. Most (believe it or not) bait all year round (except during turkey season).

And....like I said....the only "Eliitsm" I see displayed....is from those thinking that 1 acre plot is somehow morally superior.

Hey BHF.. I do not food plot or bait either. But I also don't look through a looking glass at what I believe as the correct way to view it and what another sees as the wrong way.

If its so black and white than we ALL hunt over bait.
