Truck is loaded and elkhuntinut is checking out !!

Well tonight I just finished packing my bags (for the 20th time) and the truck is all loaded for New Mexico for our archery elk hunt!!! We have 1765 miles and 26 hours to Albuquerque, New Mexico which I will stay with a relative for one night. From there we will drive another 4 hours to camp to start our adventure..and the start of what has been named to Reunion Hunt.

While I am gone my wife will be helping my mother and I will be able to keep in touch thanks for flapjack....for that I am ever grateful.

    48 hours and counting !!

    Good luck!!!

As much fun as I had on my recent antelope hunt, I'll never miss Colorado (or the equivalent) to chase elk again.

I told my buddies that this was scheduled as an "in lieu of" trip; anything in the future will be listed as "in addendum to" elk hunting. ;)

I am glad you guys are packed and ready.

The only unfortunate part about this hunt is you will forever be spoiled as far as Elk Hunting goes. It doesn't get much better than the Gila.

    Good luck and safe driving.

New Mexico has more species of big game than any other state in the Union. Probably one of he best "unknown" states for trophy big game...

That said, you'll probably get skunked, so I wouldn't get too excited about it.

Well guys, I finished my last day (half of day) at work till 9/28 and will be leaving around 5pm to make my 1700 plus mile journey. I appreciate all the "good lucks" and will come back with some pics and a story of our hunt.

We will also hope to have some good footage. This year, we are starting out our journey with a group prayer to keep our elk hunting brothers safe (as a few of us are going in different directions) and for my mothers upcoming visit to the Cleveland Clinic...till then, hold the fort and check with PABuckHNTR on some updates
