Badger in Norther IL?

    I checked my cameras today (I will post more pictures later) and I got these pictures that I think is a badger. I could be wrong though, let me know what you think.

    We don't have badgers here but that looks exactly like the University of Wisconsin mascot.

    Yep a Badger. The stripe on it's head is the clue.

    Nice catch.

    I know there are badgers around my area in southern Indiana, but I've never seen one. It would make sense that they'd be in northern Illinois.

    That is definitely a critter I wouldn't want to stumble upon in the dark.

    Yeah I wouldn't want to run into either but I haven't heard of anything about badgers around here but now I know that they are around :tu:

    Some good shots you caught. They can be nasty little critters. I tried chasing one down once while bird hunting. Was putting 6 shot in his butt while running him down. Once I emptied my gun and quit shooting he turned around and was chasing me across the field. They can cover ground pretty quickly. Since then I just leave them alone an they let me live. I can't run as fast as I used to.

    badger. They show up around this time in Il. to teach wildcats and illini how to ball.
