It's supposed to rain and be bad weather sat. morning here in west ky. Will this affect the deer movement for the good or bad. New to hunting and just wondering if it will be worth the time fighting off the wet weatehr? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If there is a lot of wind with the storm, I would just wait for another day. If it is just a light drizzle and light to moderate winds, it's time to get in the stand!
Light rain gets them on there feet, only problem is blood trailing in the rain can be hard if not impossible. A lot of nice bucks are lost in the rain.
if you are hunting public land its a great time to go cause most guys wont i would probably go any way unless its going to be non stop heavy rain with crazy winds
The more time you spend out the better...can't stress that enough. Isn't it your opening day ? I gotta wait till Oct. 15...I don't care what the weather is like I will be in a stand for that 6:01 sunrise.
Be in the stand when the rain stops! The woods come to life right after a rain or snow. You may even see some movement during a light rain.
I'm in Georgetown and as long as its not high winds and lightning I'll be in the woods all weekend. I have seen many good deer in the rain but like mentioned above, makes tracking hard!
