It's actually more common than you'd think. I googled it last night and I saw a lot of stuff about it

Man thats a bummer, hope it was put on ice at least, if it is yours and its a dead doe then you filled two tags in one shot, nice work accidentally doing the nearly impossible, hope you find peace of mind.

Strange deal here. This brings up a bad memory of a mistake I made a couple years back. Still bums me out thinking about it. I hope you straighten it out. It's a bummer hitting an animal you weren't intending to.

I hope the arrow isn't yours. I have shot a few deer and not found the arrow until later especially when I hunt at my in-laws. If it don't pass through they get in the brush and the arrow gets snagged by the brush and can be thrown anywhere.

Sorry it took so long. I was hunting all day.
I went up there and found the deer but no arrow. Although I do think it WAS my fault. All the deer ran in the direction I found that one. Oh well what's done is do e. I learned a valuable lesson though. Thanks for everyone's input.

If it was, I wouldn't get too down on myself about it. That is a very slim chance of happening, you were caught up in the excitement of the shot. It really is a freak occurrence.

But looking for the arrow is a good thing to do on any situation, it can tell you a lot about where you hit a deer. So just take that little lesson and keep it with you, yes it sucks you got the other deer and didn't know it, but like I said, freak occurrence.

It's a one in a million shot to happen, no reason to beat yourself up over it and there's nothing you can do about it now. One thing to keep in mind as an arrow goes through an animal it can deflect off of bone and exit in a slightly different direction. Something to think about in the future when other deer are around. Still one in a million...
