I left my stand at exactly 5:30 on the 27th of December which just happens to be the last day of muzzy season. At 6:02 this guy showed up. Kinda makes a guy sick to your stomach, but thats hunting. Stand is 50 ft from my camera.

How big do you all think he is? I'm guessing 140's. Hope to find his sheds but have not any yet in 4 trips in the woods.

Man he is a nice buck. I'd say he's atleast 3.5 and somewhere around the 140's. He's lacks spread but Id love a crack at him. Hope you tag him this upcoming season.

That is a nice deer, I would say that he is between 3 and 4 years old and would agree with cwoods that he is around the 140's. He should be a giant next season.

Nice! That's hunting for you! I had a similar experience with a buck I was after in 2009. I got a pic of him 15 minutes after I left. I was a bit depressed that year, but I ended up shooting that deer in 2010, about 125 yds closer to his bedding area. So I learned from the pic that I needed to get closer to his bedroom if I wanted to catch him in the light. It doesn't work out like that too often, but I did get him that next season. Good luck finding his sheds, and maybe you'll be putting your tag on him this Fall!

    Nice one! Timing is everything!

The deer in my avatar showed up this past year over and over again on camera, but my son and I never saw him while in stand..........then he came in to see us both on the same day, with the right side broken off just before the G1 tine. We both left him, hoping for a meeting next season.

thanks, it would be nice if he grew to be as big as the new IL 8 pt record.
