Has anyone test drove the new 09 Bad Boy XT. I seen it at the ATA show and it looks good. I have the 08 Bad Boy and am looking to upgrade. The independent suspension would be nice to have. Just curious if anyone else it looking into one???

Nope, haven't driven it. But honestly, If I had to choose. It would be between that and the Rhino for sure.

BBB is like a G.E.M. cart on steroids. lol.

We have a Rhino and it is really loud going through the timber. You just can't beat the BBB going into the woods.

how does the BBB do in colder temps. I'd love to get one up here, but I'm cautious. We have a golf cart that we use around the resort for cleaning etc., but I've benn pulling the batteries for this winter. Our owner didn't last year and we had to spend $1200 to replace them... ouch.

I keep mine on the charger when I am not using it. The charger is suppose to keep the batteries up if they start to lose charge. I ran my in the cold and had no problems.

I sure don't agree with the 8" ground clearance though. I would have to get that lifted. (Rhino) I don't imagine the BBB taking a lift all that well. extra stress, and what not.

I have never had any problems with ground clearance on either unit. They both sit high enough to get around good.

Just out of curiosity how well do they handle water/river crossings that nearly immerse them? What kind of range do they have on them (and I mean heavy use range, not groomed trail range)? I imagine it would really suck to run out of juice somewhere since it would mean packing in another battery rather than a jug of gas. I really like the idea of it being quiet though.

Wonder if I could get BBB to send me one as an advertising gimmick / ultimate torture test? If it survived I could give it the Kodiak bear paw stamp of approval.

I mainly have cut trails and have run it all day and have only been a little past half charge. I put it on the charger every night and have not had any problems. It has 8 batteries in it which is what makes it heavy

Just don't ever get one stuck in the mud. With all of those batteries they weigh a ton and you need a good sized tractor or tow truck to get it out.

I speak from experiance. A friend of mine had one buried in a small creek with a mud bottom. NOT FUN!!!

I'll stick with my Honda 4x4 rancher. It goes lots of places these big side by sides won't fit. With some of those you might as well take your pick up in the woods. TOO BIG for me.

Open, flat country, these things very well could be the ticket. I could use one at the cabin for transportation of the troops to the top, but that's in rifle season when stealth seems to be out the window. I hoof it in bow season. I mainly use my 06 Suzuki Vinson 500 as a skid steer, tractor, and deer dragger and I couldn't get a side by side where I need to go for any of these tasks. Like I said, I could use one, but I need my quad.

I do not have much experience with the BBB, but I do have A LOT of experience with similar electric powered vehicles. I have a buddy with horrible hips who converted a golf cart maybe 15-20 years ago. If you have the know how it's much cheaper than the BBB. It was way before it's time and I'd still take his build over the BBB. It's plugged directly into the wall everyday for charging with 6 or so batteries. Every couple of years he changes out all the batteries. It's stored in an unheated garage. Range is 27 miles on road or open trail. If you take on three or four people, the distance is cut significantly as is the acceleration. With two people it's got great acceleration and is wonderful to be in a heated cab that's this quite.

As Ben pointed out, "he needs his 4 wheeler." If you want to get REAL work done on your land, buy an ATV or side by side. The biggest downside to the BBB is that it can't handle the tough stuff. You can't skid trees and it's not something you can take across deep waters like someone had asked. You can however convert a 4 wheeler to get across water. Now the BBB probably has more juice to it than what I'm use to seeing so the range is probably further. I never looked into it's specs that deeply.

Upside to the BBB is by far the sound. If nothing else this is the sole reason to buy the vehicle. IMO, a four wheeler or side by side would beat out a BBB in every category but this one. If you have the cash to buy the BBB or an electric vehicle, get one just for the quiet transporation. If not, a 4 wheeler or side by side is much more practical.

You have hit it right on the head. If you own a BBB you also have to have a fourwheeler or side by side. I have a Polaris Ranger 6x6 to do the hard work. I use the BBB to get me to the timber and back. It will drag or haul out a deer if I need it to. I have also built my own Electric cart but the 08 BBB has features that I can't build. Braking was a serious issue that BBB has figures out. That is speaking for anyone who has taken a normal cart down a hill using there brakes, not very fun. The BBB has a type of engine braking that makes a HUGE difference. But when it comes down to it the BBB is the best transportation in and out versus a ATV.
