Congratulations on your first Robin Hood, Patrick. It is good to see someone enjoying a sport so passionately for the majority of his life. Much like any hunt, the deer you take home is never as valuable as the memories surrounding it.

Thanks for a great article. I think all of us archers have had someone in our lives that have in some way influenced us to get us to where we are today. My father was that person for me and his father and mother for him. They made their own longbows and shot on a couples league in the 1930's.
My son, 16 year old Chase Hunter, "Hoyt 16" aka "Sweet 16", shot his first Robin Hood this summer at 30 yards. His smile was priceless and the memory will last forever. His passion for the sport came at a young age when I handed him his first bow at age two. My youngest son, Nicholas Lake, age 10, also shoots with us. I can only smile when we all line up and start shooting at targets in the back yard knowing that this tradition will be kept alive for many years to come. I also know that my father and his parents are looking down and smiling each and every time we shoot together as a family.
