Well, temps plumeted this afternoon. Sitting around the mid 20's right now. Going to head back out, should be some deer moving. Going to sit roughly in the same spot but closer to the powerlines so I can watch for deer crossing that along a few hundred yard stretch.

Very foggy with good tracking snow, time for a still hunt!

Just spotted a doe about 100 yards uphill. Letting her decide which she wants to go, then ill make my move.

Right next to it. Would be surprised if he didn't brush against it.

You have a tag for him as well?

I think I know which direction I'll be moving should I ever relocate. The amount and variety of huntable wildlife you have is remarkable. Although hunting something that hunts back would take a bit of getting used to.

Wow thats crazy, do you have a lot of bear encounters? Thats probably a dumb question...

Also been meaning to ask, you said earlier a legal bull? Whats legal there?

No tag, actually filled by bear tag this past spring.

In this particular area I have been into bears, alot! Actually took my spring bear here.

Here is one I walked up to 15 yards while he was bedded. Blurry picture but he was a hoss!

A legal bull here in Montana must have at least one browtine of at least 4"

In the first pic, is its muzzle on the ground on the left side, you mentioned bedded? It might be the beer but I can almost see it standing with head to the right.

And secondly, did you spot and stalk the second one?

Sorry, I should have clarified that. He was standing in the picture. That was about 50 yards after he got up. My bear was spot and stalk, yes.

    Thanks buddy!
Heading in tonight to move a stand into a doe killing spot. Will hang it low as I am hoping to get my wife out later this year to try for her first. I will dit on it the remainder of the night after it is hung.

No hunting today.. Pouring outside! Have to work a special event tonight at work starting at 5pm. Hopefully I can get out tomorrow depending on the weather.

Just picked up Steven Rinella's new book: Meat Eater. Been working on it this morning and I highly recommend it!
