Just jumped a great buck! Exactly what I want next year. I believe he came out of the beds I found earlier in the week. I will go back track him after I get done gawking at the elk Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
Here is a crappy picture of the elk. If they bed in the same spot next week I should be able to slip in undetected and be in a great position for a shot Watching another nice buck with a doe. Everything is bedding. Will start home soon Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
Long time no post! Last few days of season here. Heading out this Saturday on a scouting/shedding/doe killing mission. Looking forward to the next few months of scouting for next season!
Heading out. 5 degrees and lightly snowing. Good thing we aren't sitting in stands today Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
Good luck sir, beautiful country you get to hunt! Do elk bugle throughout the year? Seems strange to my so long after breeding.
Back now. Absolutely froze my *** off! -10 with the wind chill. Seen 15-20 does. Crunchy snow and wide open country made for a tough hunt. After late season elk tomorrow They will bugle year round, but generally during September and October. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
Well, my 2012 Season is officially finished! No does down tonight for us. First off, I want to thank everyone for the continued support throughout the season. It was great to see the positive comments after a long day in the hills. This season was my most unsuccessful to date in terms of kills ( 1 deer and a bear), yet what I would consider my most successful season ever. I learned an incredible amount about the animals I hunt, seen my biggest Whitetail and Elk ever, and took my first Mule Deer and Bear with my bow. I really feel like I am starting to grasp elk hunting in a sense that will allow me to chase the animals in a manner that suits my hunting style and capabilities. In conjunction with a knowledge gain on the animals I learned a ton about my self. I know I can push harder and go farther than I thought in previous years. All the childhood dreams and wishes of what i wanted to be are slowly coming together. I am excited for the 2013 season and some have some great plans for the Journal. There are many things I want to do different to bring a more authentic and "real" experience for everyone here. I also have a few things we are working on for our blog that will directly coincide with my 2013 Journal. Thanks again to everyone for the support, see you all next year!
