For some of you guys that do backcountry pack-in trips on foot, what kind of tent, bags, etc. Do you pack in? I've realized that the majority of the ultralight backpacking tents are pretty much all mesh. During bow season in the mountains temps get down into the 20's and 30's which isn't too big of a deal. But if it's much colder than that, I'm concerned about the amount of heat a mesh tent will hold, especially since packing a super warm heavy sleeping bag is out of the question. Anyone have any insight?

Jeff has the right idea. The tent is to keep you dry, not necessarily warm.

You'd be better off spending the money on a good, warm, lightweight bag and sleeping under a tarp than skimping on the bag to splurge on the tent.

That being said, MSR's Hubba Hubba is a killer tent.

One good thing to pick up is a good, lightweight, packable sleeping pad. Not so much to cushion the ground but rather to aid in heat retention. Save weight and only buy one that 2/3 of your body will be laying on. Keeping the upper body warm is most important.

you can get a lightweight sleeping bag, but it'll cost you to keep u warm. probably about $300. also one of those foil liners underneath to reflect the heat back up.
