I'm shooting well enough at 25yds that I'm probably better off with a compound than a crossbow, especially taking into consideration the blasted noise of the crossbow, therefore, after shooting for the next few days, I believe my next trip into a stand I'll be toting a compound bow just 4 months 3 1/2 months after having broken my neck, and 3 months after cervical disc fusion surgery. While still only about 50-55%, I am shooting a decent enough grouping about 3-4" group at 25yds, that I believe I'm READY to use the "real bow" again. So come FRIDAY NIGHT, I'll be a BOWHUNTER again.... I'll be shooting a Bowtech Tomkat at 28.5" and 52.5# with a 395 gr arrow blazing out there at 240-242fps, and I'll have a 2-blade Carbon Express 100gr Nativ BH on the tip. Not exactly the WHOP of my signature bows, but capable of doing the job at 25-30yds, and put me back in the stand the way I WANT to be hunting again!!!
Thanks guys!!! This has been in the works, and I had to feel I was accurate enough to be good to go, and I feel I'm there now. I'd really like to be pulling 60# comfortably by the end of the year, but this is a STEP in the right direction, and from here, I just have to keep working at it, and it WILL come. I have a date with an elk in Colorado the I missed this year, and I can't miss that date again next year!!! :D
