Keep working at it, I have struggled off an on over the years and this past winter I got a STAN Perfex and love it. It has helped tremendously. It doesn't fix all but I am shooting the best that I have in a long time. Good luck.
The resistance release takes some getting used to, but, as you found out, it can be touchy. I've struggled a bit with pulling too hard into the back wall and the release going off when I let the safety up. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while. When that thought gets stuck in your head, it's hard to get out. That's part of the reason I haven't had the courage to hunt with it yet. I'm shooting the PerfX thumb button for hunting. I still use the resistance release for training - blank bailing and shooting targets. It helps a lot with my form and follow-through, and keeps me from slipping back into some of my bad habits. You may want to up the resistance on yours a bit to help with some of that accidental firing. As someone who has struggled with target panic for the better part of a decade, the one thing I've learned that's helped me the most is that there isn't a product on the market that is going to fix it. Many of us believe that a release is going to cure what ails us. However, the truth is, the only thing that can cure target panic is the shooter.
