33 yrs of bowhunting and competition has taken its toll .... even though Ive killed multiple dozens of critters, won numerous local shoots, I still never learned to shoot properly (have you ??)... there are thousands out there that hunt and take critters every year but still struggle in shooting properly and as well as they can ... those that struggle with TP know what I mean .. I ordered a Stan Perfex Resistance release and am now in the process of relearning/retraining my mind to be the best I know I can be ... here are a few vids that can help you beat TP, help you hold on that darn spot or animal and become a better archery shooter/hunter .... it is imperative to follow this program to a tee and not cut corners .. as said in the vid, it is a commitment one must dedicate themselves to .... good luck ... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

hope these help .... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
one more .... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I am now deeply ingrained into this ... I am using the Stan Perfex Resistance .. I am still at the 2-3 yds, no sight housing and up to 20 shots without any "yips" .... I am concentrating on a speck within a spot or bag and getting the shot to break as it should with Back Tension ... its all about form now and getting the shot to 'break' as it should ... another week, and I'll move to the paper plate/ super large spot (I hope) ... I need to get comfortable on concentrating on that 'spec,' and getting the perfect shot to break .... I feel better with my form now and 'back tension' ... I am tying to shoot every day to every other day 12-20+ shots/ no 'yips' .... I start out with the 'string' and 5 "perfect" shots, then go to the bag ..... damn, I never knew I had TP this bad (well, I actually did) ..... drive by shooting dosnt cut it !! ( no matter how good it may be) ... what about YOU !! .... is it time to shoot properly ?? .. is it time to comitt ??
Interesting. How do you cure TP when you don't use a release? I got a book on archery by Bernie Pelletiere (sp.?) that deals with TP. He goes into a lot of detail of the archery "process."
Here is another take on TP by Dudley ... I was always told to keep your release elbow level with the back of your arrow... Little Dudley's arm looks like a chicken wing sticking up like than (??) .... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

George Ryals .. fantastic coach ... longer than some vids, but worth it ... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
another vid .. Stan Element <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Tried to download the Morgan video and it just sat there. Tried going to YT but got a 404 error. Wanted to see it. Met him a couple of years ago.
My BIL fights target panic. He has started watching and applying the Levi Morgan video's advice and it has definitely helped him. I recently shot a 3d shoot with him and his spot shooting is much improved, best I've ever seen him shoot.
Here is another good one from Ikes ... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I never really had target panic. I ended up buying a silverback and that’s when I figured out I was a trigger puncher. I think this is the 3rd year I’ve shot the silverback, but the first I’ve hunted with it. I kept going back to a wrist release, but not this year! I shoot the silverback way to well. I believe the resistance style release is the way to go.
I'm still struggling with the Stan Perfex, there are now new holes in the wall where I shoot in the house ... Ive switched back to my TruBall Boss X thumb release and am shooting it with back tension and shooting it very well, and it wont go off accidentally either ... I have a bad right shoulder, and at times it locks up after drawing repeatedly, when that happens everything goes to crap, and the f'n Perfex goes off .. thinking about selling it.. I dont trust it any longer ... cant shoot a release you dont trust ... I should have got the Perfex Thumb instead of the resistance version, I do like the 'practice' trainer lock on them...
