HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!! I'd love to just see something like that. AWESOME. (we're expecting/hoping for follow ups!!!!)
Those really are some beautiful deer in that group! If bucks like that were abundant where I hunt, I don't think I'd have the same appreciation for hunting that I have. Maybe I've been suppressed here in Pa. lol
I have had this lease for 28 years and have never got pictures like this before with that many nice bucks in one shot.
There has been this many mature bucks on this property for a number of years now because of the way we manage it but never seen so many mature bucks in one picture. The only difference here is they did not plant anything in front of the camera and just let it grow up. There was some clover in there but I spread a number of different clovers, chicory, buckwheat and rape on there about a month ago. They mowed it for some reason just before all those bucks were in there.
The more I look at those pics, I realize that's probably the nicest buck group I've ever seen. You're fortunate.
I started hunting when I still lived in PA. I saw about the same amount of deer there but the big difference that i have seen is age structure. If you let them get to 4 years old or older you are bound to have a better chance at bigger bucks. There is a lot of factors that go into this because you can't control your neighbors. I am lucky with the way this property sits that some of these bucks dont get a lot of outside pressure. We try to only hunt when we can get in and out without disturbing the deer much also. The hard part is passing the really nice 3 year olds. You can't hunt 160-170 inch bucks if you shoot 140" 3 year olds.
Just so you'll appreciate yours more, I got this pic on a pull here at home yesterday. The eight isn't too bad, I'm surprised they came out of the corn long enough to get caught on camera, lol.
