It's been a tough year with losing my grandfather last february 2010.' He is a big reason why I enjoy the outdoors. My wife lost a baby last spring at 6 weeks, who would have been born in november. We took our 2 kids McKenzie and Brayden to disney over thanksgiving to get our minds off of things. I wouldn't want to see anyone have to go through that or anything, it really makes you realize what you have and don't take it for granted... Anyways I haven't been able to get out hardly at all this winter to shed hunt or do anything at that matter because my wife's due date was April 14th and she was on bed rest for a good 4 weeks with some minor difficulties along the way. But last night 4-8-11 we welcomed my second daughter into the world coming a week early. Addie Ryanne Culvey, she weighed around 6lbs. 91/2 oz., 19 inches long. It made our day and I could see the relief from my wife, it's been along haul. I get excited anytime I am able to go bowhunt and get out in the outdoors, but nothing compares to seeing two little beadie eyes looking at you when they first come into this world and recognize your voice, I would trade any trophy for that moment!
Congrats on the new one. My wife and I lost our first two at 7 and 9 weeks and I would not wish that on anyone. I wish you and your family the best.
Congrats Ryan. But you better kill your buck the first week again this year. Your gonna one busy papa!
Thanks everyone for your thoughts we appreciate it! Addie is doing great, she is a little doll. I'm staying home tonight to get stuff done around the house for our other daughters birthday tommorrow, Mckenzie turns 5, I can't believe it. Starting next year we will have to start a combined birthday party since their only 2 days apart.
I'll tell you what, it doesn't get any better than too shoot a hog in the first week of season, especially on the opener! I wish it were that easy all the time, but then I don't think it would be any fun after a while... It's nice to get out and spend countless hours in the stand and learn about these fascinating animals!
hey, my daughters name is Makenzie. shes about 9 months old now. and congrats on the new one, and hope everything gets better for ya.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather and child. I wish you and your family the best of luck. I will keep you all I'm my prayers. God bless you all
