Took the Dogs for a walk this morning and saw a couple of bucks beating up a couple of trees. Should have some pics tmro. didn't see how big they were. just saw the tree bouncing in the sunrise.
Season opens Saturday morning here in Ohio. Been shooting quite a bit and after about ten arrows last night my peep somehow turned and now I can't even see through it. Now I get to brave the madness of the archery shop 3 days before season. This is why I did everything 3 months ago!
When my peep turned on me last time it was because half my string was broke and it was coming un-twisted. I'm glad I found it before it broke completly. I hope your problem isn't something serious.
Just got a new string on two months ago. Just needed to be put back in time. However had to adjust my rest so now I'm off a whole foot and can't adjust my sight any farther. Not a good day with season 3 days away!!
when the new string was installed they should have timed it. Piss poor shop if they didn't. and if everything was reinstalled at the same measurements you shouldnt have had to change anything. and if the bow was not in time that was the issue not the rest. you have made to many adjustments. put it all back and if anything move your peep up or down to help off set the timing until you can get it timed again.
camera has been out 2 weeks. this is the only one with hardware. I have noticed that our Does are breaking up in to smaller groups and the boys have separated them selves from the does and are in Bachelor groups now.
Had to adjust my rest back to get everything to work, so not paper tuned but I should be able to hold tight groups like I was before (I said out of time but I think he just had to twist the string. That was my bad)
All dialed back in thank goodness! Holding tight groups out to 40 with field points so feel pretty good about that. Broad heads are shooting slightly low at 20, didn't try farther. Does anyone need to adjust there sight from field points to broad heads? I never really have in the past but thinking if I'm still low today I may adjust up just a bit.
Pulled the cams last night, have a new 10 point around the property! Looks like a 3 year old so will probably be a pass and see what he grows into next year!
I am in disbelief. Today when I was headed back to the truck, I top the hill and there are three doe. I immediatly drop to my knee just below the crest with a cedar tree behind me. The deer didnt pay me any attention. I had 5 minutes of legal light left so I nocked an arrow took aim and shot right underneath her. They jumped around a little than settled down again. I shot again. Again, a clean miss. This time when they stirred a different one ended up broadside in front of me at about 30 yards and again I missed. I shot three arrows at two different deer in 5 minute's time and missed every one. I am beside myself. One miss is understandable but three has me wondering if my broadhead tune is off. I put on a new D loop the other day and am wondering If I didnt get it in exactly the same spot again. If it wasn't an equipment glitch then I question wether I have any business being out in the woods if I can't shoot any better than that.
were you on Flat land? if they were elevated and you were under them a bit that could have caused you to be low.
