Well gents, I decided to get hitched in Oct 2014 (still got plenty of time!). That said, our honeymoon will be in Sedona, Arizona. I was thinking about going after some javelina. Any advice/tips?

My tip...... unless your wife to be is a die hard hunter,
think twice about javelina on your honeymoon. She should be the focus of your attention while on that trip, you can hunt them lil guys anytime. Now if your wife is the type that thinks of javelina hunting as being a good way to spend a couple honeymoon days, then congrats and good luck killin some! :tu:

Lucky for me she's a keeper and enjoys hunting. We've talked about this a few times and are both excited and eager to give this a try.

LSU327, I did a short article on Javelina Hunting in Arizona on my blog and you can get most of the info you need there. I have also posted some really cool video footage of Rick Forest's archery Javelina kill with a really cool surprise ending. The archery Javelina season in Arizona is now a draw hunt vs. an over the counter tag. Arizona Javelina Hunting

The season runs from January 1st to January 31st and it is also the same for the late season archery deer hunt which is an over the counter tag. I don't know why the Game and Fish changed the Javelian hunt to a draw hunt because there is always left over tags. They also increased the limit in 2013 to two Javelina instead of just one per hunter. That may change in 2014.

There is a November hunt for Javelina in Arizona but it is for the youth only and it is a rifle hunt. Not sure if this is your first trip to AZ I say enjoy your Honeymoon in Sedona. It is beautiful there and there is plenty to do. If you want hunt Javi's in January, hit me up and I'll give the scoop on which areas to put in for, or who knows we may even go on a hunt...
