Noob question here. What are the benefits of a longer axle to axle setup? Say from 33" axle to axle ('12 PSE Stinger) to a 31" axle to axle ('12 PSE Brute X). My local shop says that I'd be better off going with the Stinger.

    Thanks

Greater ATA length = greater stability... this is why target bows are longer. Accuracy & consistancy are more easily accomplished. It's also the reason I shoot a 34.5" ATA bow.

Mostly user preference these days. I like a 34-36 ATA.

On the other hand, the shorter ATA will make it easier to handle in the woods, treestand and in a blind. The longer ATA will be more forgiving to shoot. The shorter ATA will have a little bit more speed than the same bow of a longer ATA.

Keep in mind brace height as well! That is another key key factor to how forgiving your set-up is.

    Why is that?
