These rests appear to twist to capture the arrow whereas the drop away rises and has the bar. Catalog page attached.

Has anyone used one of these?

From what I have been able to find is that these are new to Axion as 2011. I have not yet found if they are new to the market as a design concept, or just to this company.

Honestly, I can't say it's "junk", because I've never actually inspected the quality, OR, the functionality of this rest.

What I will say, is that, there is too much going on. Simplicity is key. The less moving parts, and motions a mechanical devise much go through in order to achieve the end goal, the less that can go wrong.

This rest just appears to be too complicated. Same theory as why a Whisker Biscuit is a "better" rest than, say, a QAD Drop Away(the rest I use); it's as simple as simple gets. Nothing moves, so, nothing can NOT function.

Some of the techs at my local shop were looking at this rest, online. I think one of them had actually viewed it, in person, at the ATA show. Their feelings were the same as mine. Both of them said "they can keep that rest". If they're saying that, there is a reason.

That is fair in the fact that I asked for opinions. Also, I'm in engineering and believe in the KISS strategy.
That said, it doesn't appear to be any different mechanically and functionally than that of a drop away rest; both rests are operated by spring force and rely on that force to move the rest portion out of the way. The only difference appears to be the capture system of the arrow and the axis on which it operates.

    So in theory it works.
However, does it in application? Is it loud? Does it get out of the way?
I like that there is less freedom for the arrow to move.

I'd have to fool around with one to say whether I think its junk or not. However, by looking at it, I can see where it may be as simple as normal drop aways inside. The prongs simply spin rather than fall. Same spring action inside perhaps? I dunno, I"m just speculating but personally, I'd never use something like that.

As for containment, there are a lot better options out there to contain an arrow.

Haha, you say that now, it'll turn out to be the wave of the future.
The more I look at it and think about it, the more I want to try it.
However, I'm still months out on a new bow, but if nobody else has tried it I'm going to.

Looks like just another company wanting to expand their product line. They dont want to duplicate anything out there on the market so they just develop a product that does the same thing as every other rest, just in a different manner. Looks different and functions different with the same result.

In my opinion I think we are near the end of anything really impressive to come out as far as rests............
