I know Justin has a blog up on the main page featuring these sights but since I picked one up at the ATA show last weekend I figured I would show off the picture I snapped of it this evening. I'll do a full length review of this sight in the Equipment Review section once I go through the process of setting my yardage and properly gapping my pins. I have it dialed in for 13 yards in my basement and was loving the .010 pins. Since I bought it at the show and needed it for an upcoming hunt, I wasn't able to customize it the way I truely feel I want it. Therefore, I will most likely be sending it back to Tru-Ball to get the top pin switched to .019 and change the fiber combo to Green, Yellow, Green, Yellow, Green. First impressions 1. Great micro adjustments, all the way around. Even has micro adjustable individual pins, a feature I have never had before. 2. Outstanding fiber protection. My son decided to do a guitar solo on my pin fibers tonight and ended up breaking a fiber just before I took my old sight off my bow. :smash: So right now, I value this design immensely!! 3. Great sight picture. The T.C.V. (True Circle Vision, or shape of the scope) does appear to help when the sight picture is off-centered in reference to your peep and vision. I'll continue to mess with this sight and give you a full-review hopefully in a few weeks or so. Sharp looking sight as well!
How exactly did you end up with a sight from the show? Did they give you one to test/review, or did you fork over some Benjamins for it? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!
Word from the underground is that he waited until the last day and got it for quite a steal but not free. Bols isn't good at looking a guy in the eye and asking if they would like to see their product reviewed on one of the top googles for bowhunting
The Rage guy told me they were down to one pack and they couldn't give it away. The guy gave me a business card to e-mail the gentleman that handles sales, but since I am not an "Official" staff member of BH.com I didn't want to overstep my boundaries. I was going to do a review of the heads on my hog hunt if possible. Instead, I just bought a pack of the 2" 2-Blades for their show special price. As far as the sight is concerned, Raceway is partially right. I did indeed pay cash for the product as once again, I am not going to try and con a handsome sight from a company for free when I don't "officially" work for BH.com. BUT, that didn't stop me from getting a ridiculous steal on this sight. And by the way, they don't call me Benjamin Balls for nothing.... :d I got talking to one of the guys that helped design the new Armortechs. He was gracious enough to help get me the best deal possible and I couldn't resist. So therefore, I am in turn going to do a nice review (honest review, not just a blowhard review) of their product and post it up here on BH.com. There is the story.....100% True. I didn't feel right using BH.com to get a free sight but I didn't want to pass up the price they were offering. Maybe next year I'll be a better swagmaster Raceway.....sorry to disappoint you this year.
MSRP on these sights will range from $189.99 to $234.99. Price varies depending on the number of pins, size of pins, and whether or not you get the harmonic dampener in the sight frame.
I can say from experience, that the machining that comes out of these guys is top notch. I've got their Axcel 2000 target sight on my Constitution that is set up for indoor, and an Axcel 3000 on my field archery/3D Constitution. Their target specific sights are best on the market as far as I'm concerned. I've also looked closely at the Armortech about 2 months ago and handled it extensively. I'll likely get rid of one my Spot Hogg's this year to try out either one of these Armortechs, or the new sight from Octane. I'm yet to see the Octane sight in person, but from what I've heard the machining and fit/finish is top notch on those as well and they have incorporated a lot of the best features of other top end pin sights all into one unit. I can't wait to see one in person. One thing I don't like about the Armortech is that the bubble seems to be very unprotected considering it is outside of the main scope housing. Also if you have a peep that fits the outside of the scope housing, it's going to be difficult to see that bubble with your subconscious while focusing on the spot you want to hit. Just my initial thoughts after seeing one in person and handling it. I haven't set one up on a bow yet, but depending on what I think once I see the Octane I will likely have one of these two sights on my hunting bow this upcoming year.
