2 World Wars, Vietnam, the Great Depression, Civil Rights movement, etc... I'd rather some nutjob tell me to use gender neutral pronouns than to go through all of that.
I will continue to say sir and ma'am, even if they decide to throw me in jail... If you're a female (regardless of what you "want" to be) then ma'am will follow. If you're a male then sir will follow. If you don't like it, then that's offensive to me.... (we can go round and round all day with this "taking offense" bullsh....) For easy referencing to anyone that "wants" to decide what they are... Here's the go-by I present them with. Female definition - "of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) that can be fertilized by male gametes." Male definition - "of or denoting the sex that produces small, typically motile gametes, especially spermatozoa, with which a female may be fertilized or inseminated to produce offspring."
I've just started referring to everyone by, "Hey, b*tch"...it's about as 'gender neutral' as I care to go. In fact it's even species neutral...I know...I'm a trend setter and I like it.
You could also just call people "Azzhole". Doesn't matter what your gender they are, they probably have one of those.
WHatever, it works okay too. Ever notice how, no matter where you're at, either on the street or walking into a building...if you make the remark "Hey b*itch" or "Hey a**hole" everyone stops and pays attention? That's the very definition of 'gender neutral'.
I went to a little nerdy state run liberal arts college. Nearly every professor I had was liberal. Lets just say my papers and exam essays were slammed with a little more than the normal College of William and Mary heavy handed professor vigor.
Here is my one story about a liberal, feminist teacher. In one of my required English courses, we were assigned to write an opinion paper on a certain article. The article, in my opinion, was just a woman complaining about being a woman. So that is what I wrote about. My professor, of course, was a woman and a self described feminists at that. So before she returned the graded papers back to us, she told the entire class that one of the papers was one of the most offensive things she had ever read. I immediately knew it was my paper. She, of course, gave me an F I then took the paper to the Dean because she couldn't fail me for just disagreeing with my opinion on an opinion paper. I had met all other criteria. The Dean agreed and forced her to change my grade to a B. So in other words Hooker -1 Feminist English professor - 0
Outstanding! I was a government major but I dabbled around with Sociology classes because I felt they were interesting. I was placed in the department heads intro to sociology class. On the final exam, the last question asked, "Is sociology a true science?". I, of course, stated it was not a true science and used examples from biology and chemistry to demonstrate the differences. She gave me a "C" on my final exam which brought my grade down, and then called me into her office. She seemed amazed I would not accept her point of view that Sociology was a true science. I really liked the lady but I would not budge on my assessment. I wish I would have gone to the Dean as well but screw it, my grades sucked anyways. hahahaha.
I like this solution the best. If I can't tell what sex you are and you get pissy when I say the wrong thing then your probably not gonna like what the next name I give you, so shut up and move on. I don't know why we all haveta change so as not to hurt feelings.
People are so tired of this "politically correct" garbage that when someone actually calls a spade a spade that they actually can relate. I am not a Donald Trump fan but I think that is part of his appeal. If he were speaking about this topic he would call it what it is not some white-washed, vanilla, glossed over, politically correct, inclusive non-gender pronoun just so we wouldn't risk offending someone. Most days I am offended by something, put your big "ze" panties on.
