Well it's turned out to be a really great hunting weekend so far. I haven't shot anything yet, but I've seen a ton of deer. Last night I saw six different bucks, and the first shooter of the year being about a 145" 9-pointer if I had to guess. I also saw five does last night as well. This morning I had a buck walking a ridge line out in front of me freshening up some scrapes before light, but I'm not sure if it was the shooter or not. I also saw three other bucks, none of which were shooters along with five does/yearlings. Anyone else seeing a huge pickup in deer movement this weekend? I'm headin back out early hoping to catch the 9-pointer tonight, and if not, I'm still extremely happy with the hunts this weekend so far.

Well, I now know where all my deer went. I seen nothing yesterday, think neighbors to the north were hunting up wind. Have seen 3 does this morning, no bucks and nothing since around 8. Not sure what happened, like they shut down. This is in Morgan county.

Saw 13 deer between 8 am and 11:30 this morning. I decided to wait and go in after light this morning, probably should have been in earlier. I busted 3 coming in. Then I had a doe and fawn walk under my stand at about 15 yards, but they caught me off guard and I wasn't able to get set up for a shot. A little later I had a nice looking young 4 walk in the opposite direction on the same trail. A few minutes later I saw 2 mature does coming from the same direction as that little buck. They get to edge of the little ditch they need to cross so I could get a shot, and all the sudden some cattle farm decides to heard his cattle by continually honking his horn. The does change course, and never got within range. The rest of the deer included 2 young bucks and 3 does at about 125 yards away along the fence line. Very entertaining sit this morning even if I didn't get a shot off.

Good luck Brandon. I hunted all day Friday in what I thought were some sweet funnels and saw 0 deer all day. Frustrating. I hope the pace quickens next week as that is my last week to really hunt. I am putting it all on the line starting Monday.
