The evening hunt today was just awesome. It started pretty slow though, I was left to watch about a half dozen squirrels in the begining. At about 6:45 pm business picked up. I heard some noise in the bean field behind me and to my left. I then see 3 does running through the from my left to my right. I was watching these does run to the corner of the field approximately 25 yds in front of me. While watching the does, the buck of a lifetime managed to sneak in on me. Apparently he was running with the does but I could not see him because of some brush along the field edge. Before I knew it he was on the trail that runs right under my stand and walking toward me. This huge buck walks right under me and then walks off into some very thick under brush. I was able to catch a few more glimpses of him before he totally went out of sight. I was able to draw on him but everything happened so quickly and he was into the brush before I could get on him with my sights. He did not act as though he knew I was there, so I feel as though I can go back to that stand tomorrow evening and hopefully get a chance to let an arrow fly at this big bruiser. Any suggestions on whether to go right back to this stand or back out for a few days would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everybody in advance for your opinion!
Definitely, sounds like an awesome sit. If it were me and I was sure he had no idea I was there, I would hunt the spot again. I'm also curious as to what others say, but I would hunt it again asap, with the right wind from where he came from.I'm no big buck killer, so in terms of advice, I'd hope for a few more replies. But I would hunt it :D... Good luck!
