I hit the woods about 4:30 am est. had a nice northwest wind perfect! I went in thinking about a big doe and as i was setting my climber up, I heard movement. I spun the flashlight around saw a couple does and a fawn so I went to getting my stand together and I put out my scent hopped in the climber. I get about 5-6' up the tree when i hear the leaves crushing and fast so i stopped dead in my tracks. my bow was on the line and it was pitch black. This BIG BUCK isnt 6 feet from me and doesnt have a clue I'm right above his head he's lost in the sauce. this is the first buck i've seen in the woods all year. I couldnt see much but i could tell he was big bodied and big antlered i could only see his shadow and smell him. anyway he goes on towards the does bedded not 15 yrds from my stand. I can hear them running around while I'm quietly getting up and set-up in the tree anyway daylight finally comes its been quiet about 15 minutes and I can finally see something. I'm thinking man they are gone when i notice the does creeping back in real quitely and then they spin and the doe closest to the wood line breaks camp and then the doe w/ the fawn does to and THEN I SEE MR.13 POINTER coming up the hollar and i couldnt believe it. this deer was huge.he ran the fawn and took after them i did everything i knew how to get him to stop.he kept going.I thought he was gone 4 sure this time but then i caught movement and there he was heading for the trail that looked like it was a jogging path.I drawed back and held it waiting but he jumped the creek and headed off towards the bedding area and i was heart broken:cry:

Take him on a all expenses paid trip to your freezer. Good luck on your next meeting.

Good for you. I didn't even see a big boy (just a nice little 2.5yr old). But, my spot looked so good....and the does were there.....I'm going back to the same tree (something I RARELY do) in the AM.

Hope you see your big boy, tomorrow. Good luck.
