Caught some small bass in the rain this morning. Sun came out and the bite stopped. Gave me time to test out all bells and whistles on the new boat. Gonna like this new water ride. Now the backing the boat part could have gone better! Lot taller and wider than other boat...
Got a hard horn buck on my card pull this morning. Nice two year old that has potential. Also picked up a new ladder stand and ground blind to add to the rotation. Plan on getting them out next weekend.
Well fellas had the card pull which made me incredibly happy. Bertier, a crazy horned buck at the New22, 22 acres I bought last year, has been using the bedding area I opened up with a chainsaw in days and days of work this year before green up. Not just him but a bunch of other bucks too...however I don't think I'd be tempted by any of them except maybe the wide 8 with a big body. For lack of attaching a ton of photos....I did a short video on Youtube upload of some of em....fast forward to like 2:00 minute mark to see Bertier Our other properties have been incredibly slow and quiet....not surprising on a couple of them but the main big buck spot has had the quietest buck pictures we've ever experienced.
Sorry you guys for not posting much. I've been chasing elk and any of you that have done that before knows what that entails It ends this week. Then on the 16th I have a antelope tag I need to try and fill. After that I will post more. Keep posting the pictures I love'em . Its hard posting your fist buck. In November Im pretty sure I can beat it.
I haven't been on here over the long weekend because I don't have internet or cell service at my house. Lol really blows! But I did get out this weekend and check the cameras, hung a stand and looked at the food plots. Most of my bucks are hard horned now but the big one is a no show again. Food plots are looking great so I'm hoping to pull some new bucks to my area. There aren't any ag fields within a mile of any direction of me, so should get a pretty good draw with them. Cant wait for season to get started!
Carp how'd Elk hunting go? bry2211, where you in Ohio? Northern Indiana we've been so dry plots were looking terrible due to one or two actual rains in August for us since plantings BUT last few days great rain and plots are gonna truly kick in I feel.
