Hunting isn't about inches but experiences and the people you share them with. You should be very proud of that kill and the fact that you got to share it with your son. Congrats and we are now on the board!
I got about and acre and a half of buck forage oats out this weekend and we are getting rain as I type. Hoping they come up good and bring in some nice deer. I checked the cameras this weekend as well and have some bad news. My target buck broke off his drop and looks like he may be sick. I don't know if he will make it till season. Im going to get the pics sent into the dnr and see what they think.
Thanks you guys. It was a little fork horn. He will just go the minimum of 50 points. I have a couple pictures of him with me and the bow. In November I have my yearly Thanksgiving week hunt in Kansas. So hopefully I can put another 50 on the board for us.
I may just get ahold of our game warden. Hes been really helpful. I called him in the spring to get salvage tags for a couple dead heads I found and he was more than happy to help. My buck looked like he had something on his back leg but it looked like his fur was gone all over his body. He still has a lot of fat on him but he's not doing his normal thing. Maybe im just over thinking it. Ill post some pics of him to see what you guys think.
I told everyone I wasn't going to put pics of this guy up but I want to get you alls opinion on whats going on with him. Here he is healthy on july 4th. I'll post pics of him looking bad tomorrow. But that drop/kicker is now gone.
Some deer look TERRIBLE when they drop summer coat and bring on their winter ones....almost mange like.
