Worked too late today to make it up a tree....Pops is hunting though so hope to get a BBD text from him....I'll be moving back into Bertier's bedroom tomorrow afternoon with perfect winds and hopefully NO trespassers this time LOL....ugh happy that turned out okay but man was I pissed Tuesday.
Saw a basket rack eight at the farm yesterday afternoon. He came into the horns all brittishled up like he was a bad dude. Not what I'm after. Plan to head to the river this evening and try the big 10.
im done for the day, furnace quit and im waiting for the furnace guy to show up 25 degrees out side. i'll be out tomorrow with my son all day tomorrow is the last day of the first season gun season comes in on monday 11/27/17 til 12/09/17 2nd archery season comes in on 12/26/17 til 01/13/18
Tonight I ended up having another 90 inch 8 point at 5 yards. Also saw 6 does long range and a 5' point messing with them. Does on the river are just not there yet... Tomorrow is another day
Well fellas....bitter cold but had deer around me from the moment I got to the stand till dark basically...two bucks. The little guy below was running EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE. Worked that scrape about 14 times haha. I may be making a mistake, but I'm gonna put my SIL in the stand where I have been seeing the big 10 this afternoon. He hasn't been able to hunt much due to work and asked specifically to hunt it. I couldn't say no cause he deserves a chance at a buck with his bow! My hope is he shoots straight and it's a short tracking job.... Whatever he decides to shoot! If that's the big 10 all the better! I'll be hunting an area that I haven't hunted yet this year on the lease. It has historically produced encounters with trolling bucks this time of year
Well...swing and a big fat miss tonight. Not a single tail flick at all...no deer. Sucks. I am unsure if I'll make it out tomorrow...but this next week gonna try to hunt every day save Tuesday it seems.
well gents, notta tail today 1 season is over, 2nd season starts the day after Christmas, if i don't burn my tag in rifle season i have a plan for 2nd season, but i have to ask for permission for a uncut corn field. i've gotten permission before, i'm hoping for it again
Passed a seven point last night and called another smaller buck in. Had a big 140 eight point go near the stand I was in the day before. It's been pretty slow to say the least but have a few days till gun season rolls in
I'll most likely be somewhere today after church but not 100% may let pops have at it and make game plan for the gauntlet of hunting this week prior to gun opener saturday. I will continue bow hunting through firearms season though as my new property I enjoy the quiet in and quiet out neighbors hear nothing thing with a housing development not far away....legal as in county but still. Also still have a bow only spot which has been good to us but a neighbor figured this out and now hunts beside us there come gun.

This up coming weekend is our Ohio Youth Gun Season, Planning on taking one of my younger sisters out for her first deer kill! Still have some good bucks showing up, Hoping to put her on one of them!
Nothing like hunting with family! It's where rubber meets the road --- and you are totally vested in their success. Some of my best hunts were with my dad and brother/BRIL..
Ill be taking my 10 year old out as well. Hoping he can put one down. I had a 115 inch 3 year old come to the stand Friday night that he might take. he told me he wasn't sure if he wanted to shoot him yet or let him get another year older. Lol
