Well...may go somewhere tonight....really might just slip onto a property that typically has very low chances of a buck but does can be present decent amount of the time....getting itchy to get a harvest on film and a doe be great first. Who knows though...Otherwise next time I'll be out is probably Friday.

This week of work cant get done fast enough. Starting saturday I will have 5 straight days of all day hunting. Weather is going to be pretty crappy for most of it, but at this point I almost dont care.

Well all this cold weather hunting got me sick...home sick today and weather isn't going to make it conducive to hunting anyways coming days. I have never been a huge fan of hunting right up to a rain (after yes) due to risk of not being able to track so next few evenings I will probably heal up and get better as afternoon/evening showers predicted. Will keep ya posted fellas.

Ok well I have not been keeping up with the team here, I have been working allot and trying to hunt as much as I can, we had a very nice 8 point day walking quite on one of our properties, I'm guessing he would have went 150 as an 8 .. I was hunting him every chance that I had and it seemed he was always on the other end of the farm then I was, For as much as he was on his feet I cannot believe I did not have any encounters with him!

Day before Halloween he showed up on my cell camera.. So I took off of work on Halloween day to hunt him and he never showed up , Seen allot of rutting action from smaller deer that morning but nothing worth shooting, So I decided to stay in the woods to eat my lunch since the woods seemed to be alive and at 12:15 I had a buck I never seen before chasing a doe right in front of me and after awhile he came through and presented me with a nice 30 yard shot... I don't have allot of bucks under my belt and this is my biggest to date, So I was super stoked!

I have not thrown a tape on him yet but I'm going to guess high 120's or possibly even reach the elusive 130'' mark?

I will measure him up and enter him into the Contest as soon as I can!

Once again sorry for not having been in touch with the team more then I have been but things Just get super busy this time of year at work!

Getting work wrapped up as much as I can will be heading to southern Illinois Sunday or Monday. The deer seem to be moving good up here had three bucks walk by my trail cam in the yard during daylight hours. I'm getting pumped to get after it.

    Awesome buck Galen! Congrats brother!!!

Didn't hunt yesterday... With all the rain we had I'm glad things intervened to keep me dry... Ended up spending the day with Mom (89 years old) getting her setup for her for dental work today.

Going to do a mid day sit today on the river bottom lease. Moon chart showing a major from 12 - 2pm. Be up in a stand at 11 and sit till 5pm!

Awesome buck galen. I cant wait to see what the tape shows. Just from the pics, I would put him just north of 130. Cant wait to see!

Well thanks fellas, Hes definitely not a huge deer but I was happy to take him!
I put the tape on him and he's just over 130'' ... Hopefully the team can put a few good bucks down and have a good shot at this contest!
Good luck guys and have a safe and fun rest of the season,

Today started out like fulbar, it was pouring out this morning. I figured I would go out just as the rain stopped. Went to take out garbage and found the basement garage had water everywhere. I cleared the drain and made sure it was just about done and I gathered up everything I needed for today and headed out. I figured out where to go and I get 1/2 mile down the road and come across a trk in a ditch with 2 older gentleman 65ish. I help them and on my way. So I'm late getting here so I guess it's a mid day sit to dark

Well let you know how it turns out.

Long day yesterday with no sightings. Hunted the family farm in an area that usually has a lot of rutting activity.

Out again this morning at the river bottom lease.

View on the river bottom GB I put in Tuesday. This is the big 10s travel corridor I saw last week. Hope he is not locked up with a doe and still using it.... IMG_20171104_082023.jpg
