I cant hunt this weekend due to my sons birthday party and his soccer game. I'm chomping at the bit! Cant wait to see how you guys do!
The kill vein in my neck has started swelling. 3 long days waiting is going to give me a head ache! LOL
i understand completely, Friday nights are out for me. Friday night lights, son's football games. So no Friday evening hunts here. The end of Oct and Nov should be back at it on Friday night.

We have a cold front moving in today as well. It was 89 yesterday, 75 today and supposed to stay in the low 70 this whole weekend. I really want to get out there. Right now the weather is calling for mid 80's for the next weekend when I can hunt. Lol Good luck this weekend!

How did everyone do? Spent yesterday with my son up in Idaho Chasing elk at least before the storm blew us off the Mountain.
I finally connected with this guy last week. Next weekend my son-in-law has a cow elk tag so I will be helping him. In two weeks ducks start but my next deer hunt isn't tell thanksgiving week.
So I stepped out on the front porch a moment ago and watched 3 does munching acorns under my White Oak trees. I been telling the wife I need to hang a stand in the front yard!
Ok so yesterday was opening day here in Ohio and I managed to get out for an evening hunt, The goal was a doe, I got in my tree around 4:30 by 5:00 the first deer made its way in my direction it was just a small buck but still cool to have some action, Soon after 6:00 I spotted some more movement and there she was haha just what I was looking for a doe with no fawns headed in my direction.. I stopped her at around 26 yard and took the shot, the shot was a touch higher then I wanted it to be but I watched her run about 35-40 yards and she piled up, First hunt of the year was a success! I would definitely take another doe but hoping to switch my focus towards one of my other properties that seems to be holding some good bucks this year!
