Youth season opens this Saturday. To dang hot to deal with a deer even If I could get the grandson on one... Won't be hunting. I am planning on getting out Saturday morning anyway to put in another ground blind I bought this weekend. Got a field edge bottle neck that is begging to have a ground blind set on it! :)

Well I got my vacation locked in yesterday. I have the following days off 10/31 to 11/5, 11/8 to 11/12 & 11/16 to 11/19. With the thanksgiving holiday the following week that pretty much covers the whole month of November!

Normally in my area anytime from Halloween to the 15th of November its busting loose! We will see :)

Anyone else got a bunch of vacation coming up?

I would love to take some time off for hunting but I have 4 boys that keep me really busy. lol Luckily they two of them really like hunting too so that works out.
Those dates look awesome! For my area anyway. The full moon is on the 3rd this year I believe.

Im just so ready to get out there. Our opener is next weekend. Ive got my eye on a big old nanny we call horse head.

Same here for me--- 10/1 is our opener. Depending on the wind I'll probably be setting a field edge in the evening hoping for a big ole doe to stroll by. It will be a toss up between the farm and the lease as to where I hunt. The wind will tell me where. :)

Here is an overlay of the family farm and all the sets we have on it. Next Sunday can't get here fast enough!

If this heat keeps hitting us, I may wait a while unless a card pull in the next week (want to do in cover of storm hopefully)shows it is worth it. None of my properties are loaded with tons of does so my doe harvest(s) will most likely occur later seasons. I'll probably hit a tree Oct 1st...but it may just be to practice setting up camera gear and such LOL

That's cause I got lots of family members that hunt it with me... The flip side to that is I have additional options! LOL

Close to 300 acres to hunt on this farm

Season in Wisconsin opened here Sept 16 and I haven't been out yet because I just cant justify going when its in the upper 80's and even low 90's. Its almost irresponsible in my opinion. But this coming weekend we will see highs in the mid 60's and lows in the lower 40's, so I will be out all weekend.

Yup only way I would go is if I had a for sure bedding to water spot they are utilizing and even then its only if a BIG boy is consistently doing it. Otherwise I'm the same way, why go in the heat for sure.
