And......neighbor issues yet again at one of our main properties. Stand angled at our land, 3 feet from line and a salt block 15 yards from stand (all affected soil and bait must be gone 10 days prior to hunting....lol just put it out he did).

Labeling line with more signs, hanging some cams we got laying around and letting the guy know we know (we in a roundabout way know him...other folks have had "issues" we'll just say). Just want I wanted to be doing under 3 weeks from season.

This could be a bigger issue for you. In ohio it is legal to bair deer but not turkey. For turkey the law states that you cant hunt a baited area within a certain time frame. I talked to the game warden and asked him what a baited area was. His response was that there wasn't a distance from the bait but if the game is traveling to the bait or from it and you are hunting them then you are in violation. I asked him about neighbors that had bait out and he said that if its obvious that you know about it then you could be held accountable. He said that it would be at the discretion of the officer wether or not he would ticket you but by definition he could.

Is this problem something that you are going to report or are you trying to keep the peace with the neighbors?

CO is a pretty good acquaintance of mine. He will be getting an email of picture and map. He hasn't technically broke a law yet but he will no doubt in my mind.

Well it looks like my vertical bow hunting days this year might be limited! An old football injury to my right shoulder reared its ugly head last night.

I couldn't get my bow drawn back. Every time I tried I'd get a sharp pain in my shoulder blade. I dropped weight on my bow several years back because of this injury. Now it may force me to take up a cross bow.

On the flip side--- I bought one a couple of years ago to mess around with when I thought my vertical days were winding down due to the injury, so I may be taking it to the woods if I can't rehab this shoulder in the next couple of weeks.

Best time of year to be out there brother. Pops is making the transition and I'd say grabs crossbow more now than vertical...all a normal progression, I know someday I'll be doing the same thing whether due to age or injury. Get it done and prayers for healing.

Hate to hear that. I know I would do the same if I couldn't shot my bow. Hope for a speedy recovery!

I am in some dire need of tree time. Keep getting bad news about my truck. Need to be out in the woods and unwind. Lol

I may just hit up an observation stand this weekend.

I was able to shoot my bow last night. Only got off three shots before the shoulder popped. Not good!

Going to see the doctor today to see if I tore anything. Lots pain.

Maybe I can get him to give me a cortisone shot. Last time it was like this he did and it helped, but took three weeks to get the strength back to where I could draw again.

As bad as it sucks, might just want to use the crossbow this year bone. Hope the dr gets you fixed up.

I hit the observation stand sunday. Felt good to be in a tree! Didn't really see much, just 4 does but they all came within 15 yards of my kill stand. I checked the cameras and had an old, heavy 7 that was there with a decent 8 in shooting light. The 7 is around 5 or 6 years old. If I don't get any pics of my big buck I'll probably take the 7 given the chance. He wont score much but he has definitely lived a full life.

Doc said I tore or injured the shoulder blade muscles where they meet at the shoulder socket. Told me to take ibprofen, ice it and come back in one week and we would do a cortisone shot if needed. He also said not to shoot my bow for three weeks at least or until the pain goes away.

Cross bow here I come. Thank God it has a cocking mechanism!

USMC its like having an infomercial LOL! I got a couple scents I use, but I honestly outside of pre-orbital for scrapes try to use very little scents. Now I do utilize EverCalm a little as well but again, only for certain stand routes. I'm of the personal mindset I'd rather leave zero trace, than a trace I hope they like...
