I spent last week up in northwest Ontario at Cygnet Lake Camp and had an absolute blast hunting black bears for the first time. The bear hunting was really good because of the drought going on up there and the lack of food. We had bears coming into the baits at all hours of the day, sun up to sunset. Luckily for me it didn't take that long. I hunted for a grand total of 15 minutes!!! At 9:45 am on the first day of the hunt this beatiful mature sow came into the bait with no cubs and I just knew she was the one. She sniffed around for a few minutes and then plopped down onto the bait with a perfect quartering away shot. I drew back and watched my lumenok disappear into her chest. She went maybe 20 yards and it was all said and done. This was my first big game hunt out of the state and it was quite an experience. The canadian wilderness is something else and I definately can't wait to get back up there for the next adventure. On top of that the fishing was really good too. We caught a fair amount of walleyes and tons of pike. All things, along with the bear hunting, that you can't experience here in Indiana. Now that this hunt is over with, its time to focus soley on whitetails. This just helped fuel the fire even more! I cannot wait for the season and all the success stories that are in store for all of us. Good luck and happy hunting!
Congrats on the hunt Eric! Glad my brother took good care of you guys! I really wish I could have been up there with you.....and I would have had Dustin not forced me into going to Wyoming. I look forward to sharing a camp with you some day my man! Congrats again bro!
Congrats awesome trip, I seen a pretty good one a couple miles from the house fri. Season don't open for 10 more days. I hope he hangs around.
I know!!! I couldn't imagine what it would have been like with him actually there. I guess he kinda had an ok reason not to be there.
Thanks woodman, that is a big reason why I let one fly too. There is still alot more of the patch that you can't see; I just didn't have a better picture of it.
