Okay; I was just about to post on this story. Axe to grind... truth... publicity stunt? Time will tell but we're talking about a few hundred dollars by most accounts. The grade changing is another issue which would be allowing ineligible players to play. Of course if they were being paid, I guess they would be ineligible too. Time will tell.

Maybe, but it's the truth. Everyone knew Auburn was cheating under Chizik. This should not be shocking news.

There is a distinct difference from a violation and cheating.

I expect most programs to have violations because the NCAA ruled are so, well stupid.

    This is out right cheating.

The ones getting away with it have the good sense to pay off the people who can bring it to light.

By "major", do you mean successful? Or do you believe that all Divisin 1 schools cheat?

If the school is annually in the top 25, or all of a sudden becomes a top 25 team or has a top 5 recruiting class, then that school is more than likely cheating.

Some are just better than others.

Not even a third of division 1 programs are major programs, so I doubt he thinks that.

I would guess you are exactly right and it may run a little deeper than that. I played golf for a D3 school that could not even give scholarships, but it was amazing how much money I got for academics and "special" awards when I decided to play golf. Another guy I know played football there. But, when he got hurt and had to quit, he lost so much "special award" money that he had to transfer to a less expensive school. If that kind of thing goes on at the low levels, I can only imagine the amount of crap going on in elite programs.

Oh yeah, that happens all the time. My HS girlfriend played softball at a private college that could not offer athletic scholarships, and there is no way she would have qualified for an full academic scholarship as a normal student, but somehow she miraculously qualified for a full scholarship for 4 years.

Some people find the negative in everything...I am sure they didn't want to cheat, but it was the only way they could get those guys with passing grades...

...kinda like the girl said when she told her friends that she didn't want to marry her husband for his money but it was the only way she could get it.

It hurts so bad, I am so sorry for chesse ****, and the barn...........;)

Chizik and Scam are gonna eventually bring them down, sad thing is, neither will pay personally. Unless the joke of an NCAA makes cam give his heisman back, a la Reggie Bush, and that is stupid anyway.
