I've had the same tires on my ATV since I bought it (5 yrs ago). It's finally time for a new set.

Honestly, I ride on the road probably 30% of the time. I usually use the ATV to ride the mile or so over to the farm I hunt or to retrieve downed deer. I've never gone on a 4-wheelin' ride.

I just rolled 700mi., while plowing snow, Sunday and Monday.

I don't need the greatest mudders. What came on it (don't have any idea...it's a Suzuki Eiger) would be OK (meaning....OEM type tires).

    Suggestions?

Anything ITP is good. I like the looks of the Mudlites and Maxxis Bighorns. For the money I've had good luck with Kenda's.

There are some guality radials available which sounds like a good match for you.

About any tire available can be found at. www.highlifter.com

Just click on the tires link and see what you might like.

I bought the Executioners. Didn't think I needed them to be agressive, but the price was right. Really glad I did. I ride (plow) alot in suburban neighborhoods, and they still don't beat me up or wear too bad on the blacktop. When I'm not doing that, I enjoy the extra grip. Really happy with them.

I got 1800 miles out of my stock dunlops, I'd feel ripped off at 700 miles. The Kendas are 8 ply with a rim guard too, which is nice.

If I had money, I'd have bought Maxxis Bighorns in a second, they're more radial, but they are pricey. I'm glad I shopped.

The possibilities are virtually endless with tire, but in my personal oppinion the ITP MudLite AT's (not the XL's) would be perfect for you and I can get you a good price on them if your interested... It's what I have on mine right now, and they seem to do it all. And somewhere around 2000 miles. It's the only tire I have extreme experience and they've took everything I've thrown at them. And I'd say it's safe to say, I've thrown more at mine then yours will ever see...lol. :D (old man joke) And I rarely miss an opportunity to post pics of my atv adventures. :D

That or the Bighorns would be a solid choice also. They are a better All terrain tire, not a directional pattern. But no personal experience....

I went with ... 489 (Titan) Carlisle Tires. Just put them on last year so no idea how long they will last. I have a 1995 honda and these replaced the original Carlisles that were on them. Boss bought it new for the farm in 95 and it seen a lot of very hard use.

I was tempted to buy the ITP MudLite AT's but figured it was over kill for the old machine. If I would have had a newer, more powerful machine... I would have gotten those instead of the Carlisles. Great looking tire !!!!

I don't think the Mudlights will hold up to road use. Great tire for off road and a little mud here or there.

I have the mud machine bi claw and tri claws which are absolute killer in the mud and have a boat load of tread and I have been using them for about 6 years now. I do alot like Gmmat and ride to my hunting spot but these are true mud tires. Big,loud, and heavy. If you can get past that, they would work but I think a radial would be more his style.

Mud lights hold up surprisingly well on pavement to be a bias tire, I've done burnouts with mine... heck I've even drag raced it down the 1/8 mile occasionally, I'm serious when I say they've taken the punishment... are they wearing down? Yes. would it be worth spending the extra money on a radial, not in my opinion for what Jeff needs.

Oh and the Bi-Tris, lol... that's one nasty tire.:D I'd venture to say the round "bounce" would be crazy, but your definitely not going to get stuck.

I ride about 5000 miles a year baiting bear, trapping minnows and taking people fishing through a lot of different terrain, including a ton of miles over the granite Canadian Shield. If you only got 700 miles out of your set of tires, you got robbed. We just replaced a stock set on a 2008 Honda that has 9200 miles on it.....that's all from 2 seasons.

I've had 2 sets of ITP Mudlites and will never own another set. Sure, they last awhile, but they ride rougher than combine. No matter how low I ran the pressure, they still rode rough and steered tough. Sorry Aaron.

The best set mentioned here is the Maxxis Bighorns. My brother has a set on his Rincon and we have a set on a Yamaha Rhino and they are the best tires I have used. It may be a bit overkill for what you need. In that case, I would stick with something similar the Carlisle 489s.

Got a pic of your tires now?

Gmmat, if ya only got 700 miles out of your tires now, you got hosed man.
I have seen prolly 5-6 Honda's in here with well over 6000km's on them, one was 14736 km's, of course the latter one NEEDED tires lol
In all the years selling and servicing atv's, I have seen alot of mudlites around here, however, they are not the most puncture resistant tires. Lots of space between the directional tread patterns means lots of room for punctures. Not saying they are no good, only sharing my experiences with them.
I bought a set of GBC Grim Reapers for my brother this past fall, after putting them thru the paces, mud/snow/plowing/250km roadtrip to Red Lake down the Trans Canada LOL.......one word for them....unfreakingbelievable!!!
Traction, control, ride. They have it all. They will literally dig down unil they get traction.
The road trip was his idea and the tires are no worse for wear than when the trip started.
    Hope this helps ya
    Cheers
    Reese

LOL....I just ride it....don't abuse it. But, like I said, a lot of my riding is on the pavement.

The tires on it are the ones that came on it. Will they last a little longer? Well....yeah. I just think it's time to replace them. They worked great in 10" of snow, last week (plowing - no chains). So, they're not "done".

    Thanks for the recommendations.

They are aggressive but are a pretty smooth tire as far as ride goes. Not as smooth as a radial or OEM type tire but way better than other "mud" tires.

Like I said earlier probably not what Jeff wants but they will last him forever.
