    If the rut isn't on 100% would using scents drive bucks away?

    It depends on the scent. Using preorbital scent to make a licking branch will bring in bucks year round.

    I agree with VA Bowbender maybe try Tinks Trophy Buck, it claims to work good all season, or some others are Tinks #1 doe pee,select Doe urine by wildlife reaserch center,Buck Nip from wildlife reaserch center,Moon fire by wildlife reaserch center but moon fire does not contain any deer urine or bi-products.My suggestion would be to stay away from any estrus scents until you know the rut is on.
