Think of them like any supplement (I offer no supplements currently). In this case, some believe calcium and phosphorous supplementation will grow bigger racks. With all the variables I mentioned above for wild deer, it makes scientific testing near impossible. Because of that, no study has proven it. What we do know is deer must first have genetic potential to get big antlers and they must have the minerals needed to grow them and avoid pulling them from their own bones.

The best you can hope for is that you help maximize the availability of these minerals, helping to avoid deer that may not get enough of these minerals from their wild diet. This should allow them to reach their potential.

All such products also contain attractants (my product is an attractant only) and ingredients to increase palatability. W/o these ingredients, deer wouldn't eat it. Pour down some limestone; deer won't be flocking to it, despite the fact it contains a lot of calcium. Put some salt in there, some sweetener, some kool aid... whatever deer like... and then they will eat it.

If you don't care about or believe in supplementation, then you can skip it and just use an attractant to get deer in.

I hope that is a good basic explanation to your question.

Gotcha, so its kinda what I was thinking on its mainly jus a improved health thing. I don't disagree with that part but its like you said its more in genetics then jus putting something out that will grow big antlers. Like said jus wondering, as said can't really use it here or not supposed to but you can walk into anywhere almost and they sell all of it, this state is funny that way. Thanks

You could put down tons of stuff, food plots, water, hinge cuttings, etc. If you shoot all the 2.5 year olds, you won't have anything.

I tried just about every product on the market from the 50 lb bag of brown trace mineral from the coop to buck jam all work well as attractants and some better than others. In 2010 I tried my first bag of Monster Raxx and to say I was impressed is an understatement as my sites saw even more traffic and the deer stayed there and made it part of there daily routine. Placement of a mineral site is also key for them to visit daily without being pestered. My favorite are stumps near water sources or the edge of food plots.

That being said there are a couple key ingredients to a buck reaching his potential ..age, genetics and health.

With that being said I will continue to give them the minerals they need to also help them reach that potential.

On and the sky is blue.

You have no need to apologize at all bud. Products will and should be compared in the open market, it's what consumers do and any business owner or entrepreneur understands that.
