With the risk of being banned I have to say you are mistaken on this. A Southern gentleman would NEVER say dare for their, there or they're. We would say..."THAR". Where as a northerner would say.."GIS" (for the word-this) "Nat" (for the word- that) "CAAAAR" (for the word-car) "DWOOG" (for the word-dog). ECT. ECT. (if you don't know what ECT means...please see earlier post). It takes years to master the Southern accent and you must be able to be taught this eloquent form of speech. It's a toss up between cowboy boots & daisy dukes or cowboy boots & a sundress for the hottest thing a chick can wear. FWIW, girls dress like that up here in the north too. Maybe only in summer, but still. I also find this next story I'm going to share kind of funny. My brother just moved to Kentucky. He uses all of MY hunting & "redneck" stories to gain street cred with the people he works with, because he has none of his own stories of that nature. I'm thinking I'm a southerner, born in a northern state, wishing he lived in a western state.
Tell you what, you keep your southern sophisticates and the midwest will keep.. 1. Better public education system 2. Higher average ACT scores 3. Higher median income 4. Fewer people on government assistance 5. Lower crime rates 6. Shirts with sleeves 7. Lower teen pregnancy rates 8. Lower unemployment rates 9. Higher percentage of High School graduates 10. Higher percentage of graduates attending college 11. Teeth 12. Strong work ethic 13. Huge Bucks! Guess you win?
You are correct my friend about the sundresses. It is hard to beat a tanned up, cowboy boot, western hat wearing GA or Carolina girl in a sundress or little plad shirt and cut off jeans.
This has been a fun thread. Things I like about the south: 1. Whiskey 2. Billy the Exterminator 3. Swamp People 4. They make me feel smarter. Its like the mediocore chick who always goes to the bar with her hefty friend, so she appears more attractive.
