What a nice use of tax dollars. Maybe they could transfer those 'sharpshooter' funds to road repair, or school districts that are already under-funded.

Maybe have a lottery draw for a certain amount of tags to be issued to bow-only hunters for that area to help with control. Why do all politicians seem to be SOOOOOOO out of touch with what's really going on???

Yeah i know how it feels they brought ouy sharp shooters in my town 2 years in a row 2010 and 2011 in morris il grundy county they killed so many deer here if you look on a map my town is so small just farm land they shot 900 the first year and 510 the second 613 being bucks the rest were does and fawns now you cant find a buck if you wanted to its crazy we all got together for the second year to try to stop it from happening but it still hsppend even though our taxes funded it we had no voice they told us it was to eliminate cwd from spreading and to eliminate deer on car collisions in our county they went on to tell us the 30 percent of fatal accidents were due to deer crossing the roads which was crap they came up with a bunch of crap to tell us i think if they wanna do something open a later season or keep ours open longer or open spots that normally dont allow hunting like preserves and such during a small time and have us buy special tags or lottery drawn tags to help with the heard our heards are so low in numbers due to this i wish we could due something to stop it.

This just pisses me off. The county that I hunt in borders Boone county, and I can attest to this. The DNR has done absolutely nothing to help the deer herd, especially in the "CWD" zones. They're absurd.
