Attempting to enhance my water hole (new pics with water)

I've been wanting to clean out this water hole for some time now, but have been busy working on other things. My hand was forced last weekend when a large tree top broke off and fell right in the middle of it. I know exactly when it happened!

So, I sprang into action and dragged the tree out and scooped out the "pond". BTW, I placed the tree top as an obstacle that would cause the deer to enter or exit the "pond" and be broadside to my stand.

    Action photo

    End result

    Fawns sure are frisky!

    A different angle.

These are shots from my mineral site with the pond in the background.

Before...... Does that doe have a tail?

After........... If you look close, in the upper right corner, you can see my water hole camera.

Great job with the watering hole, def a great resource for early season heat. I think the fawns are geeked out that their swimming pool just doubled in size! lol
Your doe has a tail, shes wagging it and its off to the left.
Hope the water hole works out well and starts to draw some bucks in for you!

Awesome work Greg :hail: That water hole will not only be a hot spot early season when it's hot but also during the pre-rut and the rut !

Looks like a great spot for a water hole, good luck on those hot early season days.

    Thanks for the comments.

That water hole is a prime spot for animal activity and probably my best stand site.

Another thing........ that tractor is now my most prized possession.

The water hole is a lot better than it used to be. We had a good bit of rain and it seems to be holding nicely.

Plus I finally got this guy on cam. Same buck as my avatar. He's quite elusive!

Great thread Greg, very high quality.

I love the water hole idea, but like my brother said, around here its useless. We have 3 ponds, 7 streams and 3 swamps on our 100 acre farm. Plenty of water.

    Thanks for the comments.

Around my land, water is kind of scarce. That is why this spot works so well. Its supposed to be quite warm for the next week or so. We'll see how the activity picks up when I check the cam this weekend. Already, I've gone from 25-50 pics/week to over 150.
