I was wondering how ATA speed is measured. I know IBO is 70 pounds 350 grain arrow 30 inch draw. But what is ATA?

"ATA" is Axle To Axle. Its the measurement in inches between the axles of ur bow(basically how tall it is). Nothing to do with speed

I thought the archery trade association measured speed as well. I heard this on another thread

Go to equipment reviews and the thread I started " which bow" the 30th post by frantic he refers to ATA as a speed measurement. Please check it out then tell me. Thanks max

Yeah it seems that frantic is talking about a different formula used to calculate the IBO speed. One in which they use the ATA measurement of the bow somehow in the formula. But ATA is the measurement from Axle To Axle. Its not a speed measurement. Hope I'm not confusing u more. :)
