So I have been asked countless times how I attempt to pick up new properties to hunt and figured I'd share with everyone my usual approach, which is by letter. Yeah I know old fashion, but you'd be amazed at how well recieved it goes even if the end result is still a 'no'. If gone about in the right way you'll be surprised how well some people recieve you...I even have a couple properties that told me to call them the next season because if who is hunting it stops they'd like me to <--- ;)

Rather than copy and paste everthing over to this thread here's the link to it

Hope it helps anyone either edit their own possibly or even create an easier way to go about asking for permission.

Ty, thanks for placing a link to your website for this topic. It is a rather difficult process in this area trying to acquire private land without paying enormous lease fees. Being the only person working in my family leasing is not currently an option. Luckily, I have a few connections in this county to hang a stand or two, but unfortunately the properties are less than ideal (read: deer do not bed on these properties and I have yet to tag a deer around here!!).

Very subtle things can encourage a little bedding. It only take a couple deer to bed there from time to time to turn the properties potential.

No problem fellas, it isn't a guarantee you'll gain access but it is an easy way to get many inquiries out to landowners and then go from there.

    Good luck guys!

Not a problem, I understand how hard it is at times approaching land owners for permission.
