The Missouri opener was yesterday, the 15th. I managed an evening hunt, and passed on a doe. But.....How good did it feel just to be in the woods again?!! I've got quite a lot going on personally (as do most) and just being in the woods, 20 feet in a tree with a cool north wind hitting my face, geese honking, deer walking about, turkeys clucking.....And the soft, orange glow of the setting sun, when shining on the standing corn behind me gave me the feeling that I was sitting in a pot of gold.....

It absolutely renewed my soul. I almost don't even feel like the same person I was yesterday. What a gift God has given us; his creation and our abilities.

I know what your feeling Mobow! It felt great being In a bear stand all of last week bear hunting. I have yet to go out deer hunting around home yet, I may go out this weekend If I don't go up north bear hunting again.

I experienced the same thing last night, minus the turkeys and corn. It was a relief to be on stand again.

I am a month into my archery hunting already counting my antelope hunt and your right MO, its a great feeling! Every hunt of mine this summer has just been incredible in that I have been in and around critters daily, seeing animals etc and I havent even drawn my bow yet passing up a few animals, I get the same feeling day after day, just like its the first, there is no better feeling.

Good luck to everyone now getting into the swing of things.

Man that's what I'm talking about. You couldn't have said it any better. Count your blessings and all be grateful that we live in a country like this and have the ability to do what we do. Amen brother, amen.
