I'm one of those guys who decides to get into something, and then GETS INTO something! I haven't shot a bow since I was an eagle scout but I just met a good friend who lives and breathes bowhunting so here I am. I am in the middle of buying everything all at once and holy crap this stuff adds up! (Especially since I'm trying to get some of the best stuff, rofl) But everyday is like christmas right now and have a LOT of catching up to do before the season opener. Just wanted to say hello to everyone and you'll probably be seein a lot of me. One question though, other than experience (which I need I know), do you guys recommend any great books on bowhunting? My friend has been hunting since he was 10 so he just knows everything, but I need as much background knowledge as soon as possible! (there's probably a book section I figure but who checks that?? Thanks everyone for your time if you comment.
What area(s) are you hunting? This will have a big effect on the best books to read. ... and Welcome to the site!
I'm in North Alabama. Still have two weeks till Bow Season. Didn't know if there was some "Bow Hunting Bible" that I needed to read before people start looking at me funny. (That probably happens anyway)
Where in North alabama? Lived there all through highschool, and I'm moving back in January. Live in Auburn now, just started bow hunting a few years ago, but love everything about it.
You better start shooting!!! Theres a lot of good information in these forums as well as in the video section on this sight...read read read! As well as actually doing whatever it is your trying to do...I've learned so much from this sight. I'd also ask your buddy as I'm sure he'd be more than happy to answer ANY question you have! Good luck this year!!
Awesome. i bought two of those already and the deep woods one sounds like Alabama alright! Thanks everyone for the hello. I'll keep you updated on the new lifestyle as we go!
Not too sure about what books to buy. I say just read what people post here. You will learn and practice shooting your bow. Welcome and enjoy.
