Im getting the Matthews Z7 Extreme for Christmas.. So I was wondering what arrows/broadheads I should use specifically?.. I will be shooting deer within 25 yards most of the time if that makes a difference... But, I might have to make an occasional 40-50 yard shot.. Should I have different arrows/broadheads in my quiver or what? 1 arrow/broadhead all the time? And do you guys use expensive arrows for target practice?

First off you need to know your draw length and poundage of draw to determine your properly spined arrows , and i use the same arrows i shoot in the target as i hunt with and yes there expensive .

so many good brands out there so it's really up to your wallet and personal preference...i keep all my target/hunting arrows the same but i do carry different broads in the quiver with the same weight (usually 100gr)...

I have a Z7 extreme and at first I tried the easton excel arrows with a 400 spine. They were o.k. but not top best. I went to carbon express maxima hunters with a 350 spine and really like them. They hit a your target with more impact than the easton arrows even though they weighed almost the same. I use rage 3 blade broadheads but I'm really thinking about going to the two blade. I was using Muzzy's 3 blade fixed bh's and liked them but I had to practice with them because they fly different than field points. The mechanical bh's like the rages usually fly the same. However, there are other considerations to take into account like the other guys posted above. I shoot a 27" draw at 60lbs.

I bought the Z7 extreme a few months ago - it is a 70 pound bow. I didn't know anything about bows or arrows when I bought it. When they asked me what arrows I wanted I told them they would have to pick one for me. They gave me the Carbon Express Predator ll 4560. It turns out this is one Tuff arrow. They were exposed to a lot of abuse when I first started shooting and it really surprised me how much they could take. When I learned enough to read the arrow chart it turns out they are good from 60 - 70 # draw weight which is what my bow is. This is the only arrow I have ever shot and it does a good job for me. The Predator is on the low end price wise in the Carbon Express line, but it is a very good arrow in my opinion. If I ever use another arrow it will be because I am experimenting and not because I am not satisfied with the Predator. Also, I kinda like the name Predator. :D
