I was wondering what everyone uses for arrows? I bought some carbon express mutiny last year they were fine but maybe looking for something a little better any thoughts anybody?
I had switched from Carbon Express Maxima's to Gold Tip Hunters and I am glad I did. Ive broken a few Maxima's but I have yet to break a Gold Tip, tough as hell. T
If I were to go that route of buying the gold tip hunter what size do i need....I shoot a mathews z7 I believe its set at 63 ibs now i got a 29 draw length
Im shooting Easton ST Epics with N-Fused carbon. Great arrows. Wont shoot anything else. Im useing 340 spine out of a 73 pound bow not sure what spine you would need.
You pretty much have the same poundage and Dl as me and im using 5575 so you should be fine. I use the XT hunters with a straightness of .003 that is good enough for a hunting setup (Price cheaper too). If you want to get more into target shooting then you might want the pro hunters which have a straightness of .001. JZ on the pro staff here uses a new Gold Tip arrow out but im drawing a blank on the name right now. A bit heavier setup but like him i agree speed isnt everything. Make sure you hear everyone out on this thread as I am sure you will get some more input then make your decision. T
I've been very happy with Gold Tip arrows in the 3 seaons I've been shooting them. I've shot the Pro Hunters, Velocity Pros and now the new Kinetic Pros. For your setup with a 100 grain tip the 5575s should be just about right. If you go any heavier than 65-67 lbs you may want to switch to the 7595s. If you're going to shoot a 125 grain head I'd go with the 7595s right away. Better to be a little stiff than too soft. As I said, I've been pleased with my GT's. They've held up very well for me. I've shot 8 animals with them and only broke 2 arrows. One was a forward hit that punched through the opposite shoulder before breaking, and the other was on a 230+ lb whitetail that didn't pass completely through before he busted it off.
I have shot the Gold Tip XT hunter for a long time and just recently switched to the Carbon Express Mayhem just to get the extra weight I need for an elk hunt. I still love my Gold Tips.
I just got the Easton Full Metal Jacket 400s with 2 inch blazers... haven't picked them up from the shop yet but I'm pumped to shoot them! Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
I am very happy with my easton flatlines. They are 8.2 gpi, 28 inches and right at 363 with a 100 grain tip. I also have the easton st. epics and they come in at 425. I'm very happy with both.
I shoot carbon express mayhems. I have shot 1 deer and it never broke. With two inch blazers they are also very accurate.
ive been using gold tip 55/75s for years now and still shoot them,i aso tried a lot of other arrows and came up with gold tips and the carbon impacts as the two brands i prefer over others as they fly the same.im also shooting a pse at 29" and 63lbs.
