Hey guys got a quick question for ya. I just bought a bear attitude and it came with some bloodsport hunter carbon arrows. They are cut to 27" for my draw length and are made for bows with draw weight of up to 75 lbs. my bow is set with a 70# draw. Now these arrows are 7.9 grains per inch which would put them at about 313 grains with a 100 grain broad head. I'm wondering if this is too light. I plan on hunting whitetail with it. Seems very light to me. Could I benefit from a heavier arrow or should I buy new ones that aren't cut as short. Thanks.

I prefer heavier arrows. 313 seems to be on the light side, a heavier arrow will also quiet your bow down as well.

The arrows were free in a package with the bow so what arrows do most of you guys recommend. The bloodsports have great reviews I'm thinking of sticking with them but getting a heavier grain.

I use Carbon Express Pile Drivers, 11.3 gpi and tough arrows.

Wow 11.3 GPI. That's heavy as hell. What grain broadhead are you shooting with those?

you didn't say what spine they are... But if your worried, which for whitetails i wouldn't be, you can always bump your broad head weight up a bit....125 -150 providing your arrows have enough spine for it.

Also a good cut on contact head id better choice for arrows on the lite side...

125 grain Rage Hypodermic next year. I like arrows to hit hard espically when using mechanicals.

You're only accounting for your arrows GPI and broadhead weight.. you must also take the weight of the insert, vanes and nock into consideration.

I'm probably going to go with a heavier arrow. Looking into the carbon express pile drivers. The spine on these bloodsports is 350. I want something with a punch and good pass through. Thanks for the info guys.

I won't shoot anything lower than 9 gpi. Lighter arrows = larger groups for my bow (330 fps IBO). However when I was shooting a slower bow (298 fps) the lighter arrows flew much better.

If your arrow has been cut down to 27" then your spine is actually stiffer than .350. Just something to keep in mind.

6 x70#=420 grain arrow...if you have too light arrow you can damage the limbs on the bow, 0n 70# bow minimum gr. arrow is 350 gr.

Your arrows weight more than 313. 7.9 * 27 = 213.3 + 100 grain head = 313 but you are not counting inserts, nock, vanes...you are probably closer to 350. Still that is at the low limit in my opinion for a 70# bow.

I'd say stick around 400 if you can. No reason with modern equipment to go for any heavier than 450. It'll slow you down a bit but with a 27 inch dl, you can't expect speed sorry to say.

Yea, I'll be going to cabelas this weekend and see what all they have. The bloodsports shoot really nice but damn does my bow echo with these light arrows.

Either go to a 125 or a 150 grain head and or go with a heaver grain arrow. A heavy arrow will quiet down the shot but will also slow down your speed. I also shoot a 27" draw and its tough to get the speed out of it, but im also shooting a pretty heavy arrow.
