Jeff, honestly, I'm no tuning expert, or even an archery expert, so I can't quite answer much for you. I wouldn't think the archer's paradox is even relevant since compounds use centershot risers, but the arrow does oscillate up and down, but that would have little effect on the impact left/right.

Bareshaft tuning would be the ideal method for tuning, but like I said, at the time I didn't have the fletching tools, and I didn't want to strip a few perfectly good arrows to test. Now, it's a different story, and I may have to go this route, BUT bareshaft tuning will show the same results as BH tuning if it's truly showing a weak spine. Unfletched arrows hitting left of the FPs is an indicator of a weak spine when bareshaft testing as well.

Here's my thought. JeffB, and a few others over on HNI suggested I look at BH alignment. I have NOT spin tested my arrows with BHs (I know, I know). I don't have a spin tester, but will purchase one (most likely the one off this site if everyone agrees it's a decent tester). I can't imagine that being it, but you never really know. I was also told to check my nock fit, and I will replace all of my current nocks with fresh new G-nocks (not sure that's going to make much of a difference). Finally, someone suggested cam lean. Will I certainly have cam lean, as I've fought an ongoing issue with my draw stop modules clipping the cables (those of you from HNI may remember that post over there in the tech section). Finally, it was suggested I check my riser for square in case it has become bent from pressing incorrectly (which I'll admit I did once). So, I suppose I have a whole slew of things to try out.

Matt, just two throw my 2 cents in, I have the spin tester that they sell on here, I like it.

Honestly, GMMAT, I really don't know (see I told you I'm not that smart at this crap :D). You make a good point in the sense that what would normally cause a shaft to hit left or right (bareshaft or BH) would be the non-centershot riser. Looking over Easton's tuning guide, the bareshaft test is only indicated for CF and RF (compound finger release and recurve finger release). Possibly the fact that with a compound shooting fingers causing the side to side movement that could cause left/right impacts. Since they left out the CR (compound mechanical release), does that mean this side to side bareshaft doesn't apply to release aids on a compound? Now, you've got me thinking, Jeff.

On a side note, JoshKeller, and TFox ran my numbers through OT2 and AA, and with a 27" raw shaft, at 58# I'm JUST barely ok, any more and I'm showing signs of weakness, so at 27.5"+ on my shafts, I'm probably starting to truly show a weak spine, and when I BH tuned, I was originally maxed out on my 60# limbs (so probably around 61#), so that makes sense.

Paper tuning, bareshaft tuning, walk back tuning, group tuning will all show whether you are weak or stiff, dynamic spine-wise. You use charts and/or software to get your static spine close and then tune to adjust for the difference between staic and dynamic spine.

Just an update (unrelated to the spine issue), I purchased two dozen GT CAA's. I was low on my ACCs, so we'll see.
